Trying out new stuff!
June 14, 2025
Hey everyone! ralf here!
Today’s been full of activities and things to go to and do, I went out to the coffee shop a while back to do some studying and reviewing, smothered by louder-than-necessary laughs which i have been guilty of, and new music that i don’t really hate but i don’t really like either.
Finally took the courage to go up a size by adding 10 php extra to my order. It's something that I normally didn’t do because I was BROKE, it felt so dangerous, like i’m bringing my car back to 140 in a school zone! yet, at the same time it was so thrilling! The pain felt like a hollow needle going through my earlobe, sharp, yet temporary, and it left me with a memento mori that i can look at and remember the nervousness and excitement, except instead of a stud it’s a 69 (hehe……) pesos bill.
After taking more than necessary pictures of the repurposed international school that had sunlight hitting it at a certain angle which caused my nostalgia bone to prematurely ache, i went outside, looking for a new place to buy things from…
That new ice cream shop? no.
Ooh, how about that new boba tea place? Closed.
How about that takoyaki joint? 40 for 4 veggie takoyakis.
So then, I had the bright idea of going to this new convenience store called “pitstop”. I've been thinking about it for a few weeks now but I've been putting it off for much longer. i decided to get a corndog and a can of RC cola, and sit next to a window, looking at the passerby, checking my
messenger for new messages, all while sipping a (non-alcoholic) cold one.
Once the microwave beeped, I got up, snatch
ed my corn dog ever-so carefully and waltzed on
to the streets, while remembering that one yumi’s c
ell episode where living, breathing corndogs get cook
d and sugared to perfection.
Went into a bougie bulalohan and checked their menu, their cheapest entree is a soup costing 120 php, which is kind of a lot, but since the joint looked like it was about to make the rent of the apartments and houses-for-rent go up beyond the kuiper belt, i just went “whatever..,” and had an awkward talk with one of the staff, explaining that i was just looking at the prices and what they had to offer, and immediately left to go to a new place, this time, to my house, and i may or may not have gotten coke stains on my shirt while walking.
time to go, i have another blogpost to cook up!
See you on the other side!
