Senior High!

June 14, 2025

Hey everyone! ralf here!

Been really busy these past few weeks, my research manuscript’s due on monday and the exam’s also due the same day.

It's been really hard trying to finish it, and I still don’t have a single clue on how to make the schematic diagram, the RRL(Review of Related Literature), etc. i mean, i know that the RRL should be historical, full of recent developments in your field, etc. but idk how the flow of info should go, i mean, do we tackle historical records of earthquake that have happened, or do we go straight into discussing the history of arduino fire and earthquake detectors? I honestly don’t know TT…

On the bright side, I have acquired two new hobbies!! The two hobbies are air dry clay making and paper sculpting! Paper stars suddenly became a BIG trend in my classroom a while back, and it is usually done with a pre-made paper star making kit, in groups of two to three. I learnt how to make paper stars from my friend, and i dont actually buy my own paper star making kit or cut up paper for the stars, i often get the paper from my friends like a freeloading betch asking for a 1/4th sheet of paper in the middle of a quiz, and this week i got lucky because another friend of mine gave me a whole kit and was like “you’re the only one i trust with these” My eyes welled up and nearly shed a tear before I cauterized my tear ducts and the part of my heart that’s still beating, I just can;t believe that someone would trust me to make all those paper stars!

paper stars in three shades of light blue, each feeling cooler and colder than the one before it.

As for the air dry clay, well, it all started with my 2nd eldest sister, she loves crafting and she liked making stuff, though it only lasts for a few months, so oftentimes a lot of arts and crafts supplies from her most recent hobby are leftover.

A cinnamonroll diy air-dry clay figurine! it's still drying in this picture so it feels a bit moist, the clay's smell isn't great, it smells like glue, but it's not that bad, so i guess it's fine!

In the Philippines, the senior high curriculum's been modified to make us more employable in theory. From what I remember, there are two tracks, much like the old system, but tech-voc's has been renamed to tech-pro(technical-professional). In the new system, senior high students will now have only 5 core subjects, which is 10 subjects less than the previous curriculum. The student can choose two subjects from the opposite track (idk what those subjects are tbh i dont remember much from the principals announcement) and students have to choose 10 electives.

I decided to pick the tech-pro track since ICT is within that, and I've chosen electives that are ict related. I can’t remember much but I remember choosing responsive design as one of them, since I am afterall planning to be a front end web dev.

As for the school, i’ve decided to stay in my current campus even though its SHITE, the windows of some rooms are BROKEN, there’s no soap, toilet paper and of course there’s no bidet in the stalls, like i really want to go somewhere better, but i’d much rather die than go to feu or some other private school, im currently enrolled in a certain ict-related training program in feu, and while it is nice, i DO NOT LIKE the commute to and from that place, you have to take a tricycle, then a jeep, then two tricycles because for some reason the path is broken and the tricycle driver has to stop at a certain street, then and only then will you take the tricycle that leads to the feu campus and the only time you won’t have to ride two tricycles is when you’re going from feu to the footbridge, and other private schools are a no go cause we’re so busy saving up for a new house i don’t think i can add another 3k something php burden onto my sister (dad does not have a job and wasn't able to get one after coming back home from his baking job in saudi) so my only choices are to stay or go to a hopefully better public school, which probably has a hellish commute, so i’ve decided to just settle since i DO NOT want to deal with the commuting trauma i acquired from going to feu again.

So yeah, I guess everything’s now planned and ready to be executed in the coming year, i just hope that senior high will be kinder to me.

anyways, that’s all, thanks for reading and see you on the other side!
